Why IG-TILE Is the Smart Choice

When the floor you lay reflects your standards, every product you choose matters. That's why garage owners, tradespeople and facilities managers across the UK are switching to IG-TILE — purpose-built to outperform thinner, virgin-plastic alternatives that look similar but don't hold up under real-world conditions.

Unlike standard 7mm PVC tiles, which flex under point loads and can deform under sustained vehicle weight, IG-TILE delivers a genuinely industrial-grade specification:

  • 14mm solid construction distributes load evenly across the substrate, eliminating flex and deformation under vehicles, axle stands and heavy equipment.
  • Recycled PP + PVC blend provides impact resistance, chemical inertness and long-term dimensional stability — not brittle, not absorbent.
  • Precision jigsaw interlock creates a tight, seamless finish with no gaps for oil or debris to accumulate. Tiles lock together without adhesive and stay locked under load.
  • R11 moulded grip surface provides certified anti-slip performance in the conditions garages and workshops actually produce — oil contamination, water ingress, dust.
  • 100% recycled content means every square metre of IG-TILE floor permanently captures approximately 12kg of recycled plastic that would otherwise go to landfill.

IG-TILE isn't over-specified for show — it's built to give you a floor that performs from day one and looks sharp for years. Lay it once. Leave it alone.

Easy Installation

IG-TILE garage floor tiles are designed for tool-free, no-adhesive installation. No specialist knowledge or contractor required. The snap-fit interlocking system means a standard single garage (18m²) installs comfortably in under 60 minutes.

  • Sweep and degrease the concrete substrate. The floor should be dry and reasonably level.
  • Plan your layout — start from the centre or a fixed wall, working outward. Leave a 15–20mm expansion gap at walls.
  • Click tiles together — align the interlocking edges and press or tap firmly. A rubber mallet helps seat tiles fully.
  • Cut perimeter tiles using a jigsaw or circular saw with a fine-tooth blade.
  • Finish with edge ramp sections (available separately) for a neat, trip-hazard-free border at the garage entrance.

Because tiles are loose-laid without adhesive, individual tiles can be lifted for substrate access or replaced if damaged — no need to disturb the whole floor.

Eco-Friendly, Sustainably Made

IG-TILE is made by IBRAN — a company founded on the conviction that plastic waste is a resource, not a problem. Every tile is manufactured in the UK from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene and PVC, permanently locking waste plastic into a durable product with a service life measured in decades.

Unlike virgin PVC tiles, IG-TILE actively reduces demand for new petrochemical feedstock. And with a 14mm construction designed for the long term, the recycled material stays in productive use — on your floor, doing its job — rather than cycling back into the waste stream prematurely.

  • 100% recycled plastic content — PP + PVC
  • UK manufactured — minimised transport footprint
  • Permanent waste plastic capture — not downcycled
  • Long product lifespan reduces replacement frequency
  • Tiles can be returned to IBRAN for recycling at end of life

What is IG-TILE?

IG-TILE is a heavy-duty interlocking floor tile system made in the UK by IBRAN from 100% recycled polypropylene (PP) and PVC. At 500mm x 500mm x 14mm, each tile is twice the thickness of standard 7mm garage floor tiles, providing genuine industrial-grade load capacity, superior thermal insulation and a precision snap-fit interlock for tool-free installation on any hard substrate.

Can you cut IG-TILE floor tiles?

Yes. IG-TILE can be cut to fit any shape or size of area using a jigsaw or circular saw with a fine-tooth blade. Mark your cut line with a chalk line and cut face-up for the cleanest finish. Offcuts can be used elsewhere in the layout to minimise waste.

What are the benefits of IG-TILE compared to standard garage floor tiles?

IG-TILE offers several significant advantages over standard 7mm garage floor tiles:

  • 14mm thickness for genuine heavy-duty load performance
  • 100% recycled plastic content versus virgin PVC used by most competitors
  • R11 anti-slip rating for oily and wet conditions
  • Superior thermal insulation for a warmer workspace
  • Tight precision interlock that stays seated under vehicle loads without adhesive
  • UK manufactured with full traceability

What vehicles and equipment can be used on IG-TILE?

IG-TILE is rated for heavy industrial use and is suitable for:

  • Cars and motorcycles
  • Vans and light commercial vehicles
  • Trolley jacks and axle stands
  • Motorbike paddock stands
  • Pallet trucks and pump trucks
  • Forklift traffic
  • Heavy workshop machinery

The 14mm solid construction distributes load evenly across the substrate, preventing the flex and point-load deformation seen with thinner tiles.

How are IG-TILE garage floor tiles installed?

Installation is straightforward and requires no specialist tools or adhesive. Follow these steps:

  1. Sweep and degrease the concrete substrate — it should be dry and reasonably level.
  2. Plan your layout, starting from the centre or a fixed wall, and leave a 15–20mm expansion gap at all walls.
  3. Click tiles together by aligning the interlocking edges and pressing or tapping firmly — a rubber mallet helps seat tiles fully.
  4. Cut perimeter tiles to size using a jigsaw or circular saw with a fine-tooth blade.
  5. Finish with edge ramp sections at the garage entrance (available separately).

A standard single garage (18m²) typically installs in under 60 minutes.

Are IG-TILE tiles resistant to oil, petrol and chemicals?

Yes. IG-TILE has excellent chemical resistance. The recycled PP and PVC blend is impervious to engine oil, brake fluid, antifreeze, petrol, diesel and most common workshop solvents. Spills do not penetrate the tile surface and wipe clean easily. For stubborn staining, a citrus-based degreaser works well.

Note: prolonged contact with rubber tyres can cause surface discolouration (a known industry-wide issue caused by 6PPD in tyre compounds) — this does not affect tile performance and is far less visible on darker colours.

How do I clean and maintain IG-TILE floor tiles?

IG-TILE is very low maintenance. For routine cleaning, sweep or vacuum to remove loose debris, then damp mop with a neutral pH floor cleaner. Oil and fuel spills should be blotted immediately with an absorbent cloth and cleaned with a citrus-based degreaser. Tiles can also be lifted individually and pressure-washed for deep cleaning.

Because tiles are loose-laid without adhesive, any damaged tile can be lifted and replaced without disturbing the rest of the floor.

How many IG-TILE tiles do I need for my garage?

Each IG-TILE covers 0.25m² (500mm x 500mm), so you need 4 tiles per square metre. To calculate your requirement, measure the length and width of your garage floor in metres, multiply them together to get your area in m², then multiply by 4. We recommend adding 5–10% for cuts and wastage.

Tiles are sold individually and in boxes of 12 (covering 3m²).

Are IG-TILE tiles suitable for outdoor use?

IG-TILE is designed primarily for indoor use in garages, workshops, warehouses and commercial spaces. The tiles are temperature stable between -20°C and +60°C, so they will handle cold garage conditions without becoming brittle. For areas that receive direct, sustained sunlight or are fully exposed to the elements, we recommend contacting IBRAN for specific guidance.

Are IG-TILE tiles really made from 100% recycled plastic?

Yes. Every IG-TILE is manufactured from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PP) and PVC. IBRAN was founded specifically to create high-performance products from waste plastic — permanently capturing material that would otherwise go to landfill. Each square metre of IG-TILE floor locks in approximately 12kg of recycled plastic. At the end of the product's life, tiles can be returned to IBRAN for recycling.

What is the difference between IG-TILE and rubber matting for garage floors?

Rubber matting for garage floors is typically thinner, less rigid and more prone to movement under vehicle loads and rolling equipment. IG-TILE's 14mm interlocking construction creates a unified, stable floor rather than individual mats that can shift or curl at the edges. IG-TILE also offers far better chemical resistance than most rubber products, better thermal insulation, and a much neater finished appearance. Rubber mats are also harder to keep clean and trap debris along their edges — IG-TILE's tight interlock eliminates this problem.

Is IG-TILE manufactured in the UK?

Yes. IG-TILE is manufactured entirely in the UK by IBRAN. We do not import our products. Every tile is made in-house and shipped directly from our UK facility, which allows us to maintain full quality control and keep lead times short. UK manufacture also means a lower transport carbon footprint compared to imported alternatives.
