VALT® Pro - Heavy-Duty Interlocking Gym Floor Tiles

Most home gym flooring is a compromise. Foam dents under a rack. Rubber mats curl at the edges, shift underfoot and trap dust in every gap. VALT® Pro is a floor: 14mm of solid interlocking tile, twice the depth of the usual gym tile, laid tight enough that it behaves as one surface rather than a set of loose mats.

UK-made from 100% recycled polypropylene and PVC. It looks the part, holds up under real load, and quietly does right by the planet without making a song and dance about it.

Why VALT® Pro?

14mm: twice the material, twice the performance. The market standard is 7mm. VALT® Pro is twice that. It spreads point loads instead of denting under them, so rack feet, bench legs, dumbbell ends and loaded plates don't leave marks in your floor. It doesn't flex, lift or crack under a fully loaded rig.

A stable platform under load. Rigid tiles matter more than soft ones when you're lifting. A rack that sits on a firm, level surface stays put; one sat on foam or thick rubber rocks under a heavy pull. VALT® Pro gives you a floor that doesn't move when you do.

R11 anti-slip surface. One step above the industry standard R10. Confident grip underfoot when sweat hits the floor, which it will. Tested, rated, and it means something.

Warmer and quieter than bare concrete. The ribbed underside creates an insulating air gap: less cold through your feet on early sessions, and less ring when a dumbbell lands.

Chemical and moisture resistant. Sweat, cleaning products, spilled protein, chalk dust. Wipe clean. Nothing stains permanently, and nothing gets trapped in the joints the way it does between rubber mats.

100% recycled plastic, and not the kind that comes from a factory floor. PP and PVC blend, made in Leicestershire. The plastic in every VALT® Pro tile started life somewhere it shouldn't have been: waste streams, waterways, discarded. We've been turning that waste into structural products since 2014. Every tile is post-consumer material that isn't going to landfill. You don't need to mention it to anyone. But it's there.

Snap-fit, no tools, no adhesive. Loose-lay over any flat concrete, screed or garage floor. A single-garage gym installs in under an hour. No contractor, no prep, no mess.

Relocatable and repairable. Tiles lift cleanly if you move or reconfigure the space. Individual tiles replace if damaged, so one dropped plate doesn't mean a new floor.

Where it works

Home gyms, garage gyms, PT studios, commercial fitness spaces, workshops and multi-use garages. It takes racks, benches, rigs, machines and cardio equipment, and it's rated for vehicles too, so a garage gym doesn't have to choose between the two.

On dropping weights

Be straight about this one. VALT® Pro is a load-spreading floor, not a shock-absorbing one. It's the right surface across the whole gym: under the rack, under machines, under your feet. For a dedicated deadlift or Olympic drop zone, lay a rubber platform over the top in that one area. Everywhere else, VALT® Pro does a better job than rubber and looks considerably better doing it.

Installation

Sweep. Click. Cut the edges with a jigsaw. Done. Single garage: under 60 minutes. No special tools, no professional required, no YouTube rabbit hole at 11pm.

Sold as

Individual tiles at £4.49 each, or packs of 12 covering 3m². Mix colours to mark out lifting zones, walkways or a classic checkerboard finish. Edge ramp sections available separately. Trade and pallet pricing available: get in touch.

Why VALT® Pro is the Smart Choice

When the floor you train on reflects your standards, every product you choose matters. That's why home gym builders, PT studios and fitness spaces across the UK are switching to VALT Pro, purpose-built to outperform the thinner, cheaper alternatives that look similar but don't hold up under real-world conditions.

Foam dents. Rubber mats curl, shift and trap dust in every gap. Standard 7mm PVC tiles flex under point loads and deform under sustained weight. VALT Pro delivers a genuinely heavy-duty specification:

14mm solid construction distributes load evenly across the substrate, eliminating flex and deformation under racks, rigs, machines and loaded plates.

A floor that doesn't move when you do. Rigid tiles beat soft ones under a rack. Equipment sat on a firm, level surface stays put; the same rack on foam or thick rubber rocks under a heavy pull.

Recycled PP and PVC blend provides impact resistance, chemical inertness, and long-term dimensional stability. Not brittle. Not absorbent.

Precision snap-fit interlock creates a tight, seamless finish with no gaps for sweat, chalk dust or debris to accumulate. Tiles lock together without adhesive and stay locked under load.

R11 moulded grip surface provides certified anti-slip performance in the conditions a gym actually produces: sweat, spilled drinks, cleaning products, dust.

100% recycled content means every square metre of VALT® Pro floor permanently captures approximately 12kg of post-consumer plastic waste.

VALT® Pro isn't over-specified for show. It's built to give you a floor that performs from day one and looks sharp for years. Lay it once. Leave it alone.

On Dropping Weights

Worth being straight about. VALT® Pro is a load-spreading floor, not a shock-absorbing one. It's the right surface across the whole gym: under the rack, under machines, under your feet, and it will take dumbbells set down hard without marking.

For a dedicated deadlift or Olympic drop zone, lay a rubber platform over the top in that one area. Everywhere else, VALT Pro does a better job than rubber matting and looks considerably better doing it.

Easy Installation

VALT® Pro tiles are designed for tool-free, no-adhesive installation. No specialist knowledge or contractor required. A standard single garage (around 18m²) installs comfortably in under 60 minutes.

  1. Sweep and degrease the floor. It should be dry and reasonably level.
  2. Plan your layout, starting from the centre or a fixed wall and working outward. Leave a 15-20mm expansion gap at walls.
  3. Click tiles together, aligning the interlocking edges and pressing firmly. A rubber mallet helps seat tiles fully.
  4. Cut perimeter tiles using a jigsaw or circular saw with a fine-tooth blade.
  5. Finish with edge ramp sections (available separately) for a neat, trip-hazard-free border.

Mixing colours as you lay lets you mark out lifting zones, walkways or platform areas without any extra work.

Because tiles are loose-laid without adhesive, individual tiles can be lifted for access or replaced if damaged without disturbing the whole floor. The whole floor lifts and relocates if you move.

Sustainably Made

VALT® Pro is made by IBRAN, a company founded on the conviction that plastic waste is a resource, not a problem. Every tile is manufactured in the UK from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene and PVC, permanently locking waste plastic into a product with a service life measured in decades.

Unlike virgin PVC tiles, VALT Pro actively reduces demand for new petrochemical feedstock. The 14mm construction means the recycled material stays in productive use on your floor rather than cycling back into the waste stream prematurely.

  • 100% recycled plastic content (PP and PVC blend)
  • UK manufactured
  • Permanent waste plastic capture, not downcycled
  • Long product lifespan reduces replacement frequency
  • Tiles can be returned to IBRAN for recycling at end of life

Where to Use VALT® Pro

Home gyms, garage gyms, PT and personal training studios, commercial fitness spaces, martial arts and functional training areas, workshops, garden rooms and multi-use garages. Rated for vehicles as well, so a garage gym doesn't have to choose between the two.

What is VALT Pro?

VALT Pro is a heavy-duty interlocking gym floor tile made in the UK by IBRAN from 100% recycled polypropylene and PVC. At 500mm x 500mm x 14mm, each tile is twice the thickness of standard 7mm tiles, built for genuine load performance under racks and equipment, a sharp finished look, and tool-free installation on any hard substrate.

Can you drop weights on VALT Pro?

VALT Pro is a load-spreading floor, not a shock-absorbing one. It handles dumbbells set down firmly, kettlebells, loaded plates and general gym use without marking or denting.

For a dedicated deadlift or Olympic drop zone where loaded barbells are dropped from height, lay a rubber platform over the top in that one area. Everywhere else in the gym, VALT Pro outperforms rubber matting and looks considerably better.

Will a squat rack sit stable on VALT Pro?

Yes, and more stable than on foam or thick rubber. Rigid tiles matter more than soft ones under a rack. The 14mm solid construction spreads point loads from rack feet across the substrate rather than compressing under them, so the rack does not rock or settle unevenly during a heavy pull.

For bolt-down rigs, drill through the tile into the substrate beneath.

Is VALT Pro quieter than a concrete gym floor?

Noticeably. The ribbed underside creates an insulating air gap that reduces both the ring of dropped equipment and general impact noise, and the floor feels warmer underfoot than bare concrete on early sessions.

It is not an acoustic isolation system. If you are training above a living space or in an attached garage and noise transfer is a real concern, add a rubber platform in the drop zone and consider isolation matting under equipment.

What loads and equipment can VALT Pro handle?

Power racks, rigs, benches, loaded barbells, dumbbell storage, cable machines, treadmills, bikes, rowers and sled work. It is also rated for vehicles, trolley jacks and axle stands, so a garage gym does not have to choose between training space and parking.

The 14mm construction distributes load evenly across the substrate, eliminating the point-load deformation you get with thinner tiles.

Will cardio machines damage the tiles?

No. Treadmills, bikes and rowers sit on VALT Pro without denting it, and the tight interlock means machines do not gradually work the tiles apart the way they separate loose mats. Wheeled equipment rolls over the surface without catching on joints.

Can you cut VALT Pro tiles?

Yes. VALT Pro cuts cleanly with a jigsaw or circular saw with a fine-tooth blade. Mark your cut line and cut face-up for the neatest finish. Offcuts can be used elsewhere in the layout so there is very little waste.

How are VALT Pro tiles installed?

No tools, no adhesive, no contractor required. A single-garage gym installs in under an hour.

  1. Sweep and degrease the floor. It should be dry and reasonably level.
  2. Plan your layout from the centre or a fixed wall, leaving a 15-20mm expansion gap at all walls.
  3. Click tiles together, pressing or tapping firmly. A rubber mallet helps seat them fully.
  4. Cut perimeter tiles with a jigsaw or circular saw with a fine-tooth blade.
  5. Finish with edge ramp sections at any exposed edge (available separately).

Mixing colours as you lay lets you mark out lifting zones or walkways at no extra cost. Because tiles are loose-laid without adhesive, any individual tile can be lifted for access or swapped out if damaged without disturbing the rest of the floor.

How many VALT Pro tiles do I need?

Each tile covers 0.25m² (500mm x 500mm), so you need 4 tiles per square metre. Measure your space length and width in metres, multiply them together, then multiply by 4. Add 5-10% for cuts and waste.

Tiles are sold individually and in boxes of 12 covering 3m².

How do I clean VALT Pro after a session?

Sweep or vacuum loose debris and chalk dust, then damp mop with a neutral pH floor cleaner. The tight interlock leaves no gaps for sweat or dust to collect in, unlike the joints between loose rubber mats.

Individual tiles can be lifted and pressure-washed for a deep clean. The surface is non-absorbent, so nothing soaks in and nothing holds odour.

Does VALT Pro get slippery when you sweat on it?

The moulded surface is R11 rated, one step above the industry standard R10, and that rating is measured in wet and contaminated conditions. It holds grip when sweat hits the floor. Wipe standing sweat as you would on any gym surface, but the tile is designed for exactly these conditions rather than tested only when dry.

Can I lay VALT Pro over an existing floor?

Yes, on any flat, dry hard substrate: concrete, screed, existing tile or a garage floor. It does not need to be perfect, but it should be reasonably level and free of standing moisture.

Carpet, soft vinyl and floating floors are not suitable substrates, as the tiles need a firm base to spread load into.

How does VALT Pro compare to rubber gym matting?

Rubber mats shift, curl at the edges, trap dust and sweat in the joints, and rarely look good after the first few months. VALT Pro's 14mm interlocking construction creates a unified, stable floor that stays put and looks sharp for years. Chemical and moisture resistance is significantly better, and there are no debris traps.

The one thing rubber does better is absorb dropped barbells, which is why a rubber platform in a dedicated drop zone is a sensible pairing rather than a competitor.

Are VALT Pro tiles really made from 100% recycled plastic?

Yes. Every tile is manufactured from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene and PVC. IBRAN was founded specifically to create high-performance products from waste plastic, permanently capturing material that would otherwise go to landfill. Each square metre of VALT Pro floor locks in approximately 12kg of recycled plastic. At end of life, tiles can be returned to IBRAN for recycling.

Is VALT Pro manufactured in the UK?

Yes. VALT Pro is manufactured entirely in the UK by IBRAN in Leicestershire. Every tile ships directly from our UK facility, which means full quality control and short lead times. UK manufacture also keeps the transport carbon footprint well below imported alternatives.
